Playwright & Actress

Emily Emerson is a writer and actress currently based in North Carolina. As a writer, her play, The Field, premiered off-Broadway (Broadway Bound Theatre Festival, 2018) and as part of Barter Theatre’s Appalachian Festival of Plays and Playwrights (2019). As an actor, she has performed at Triad Stage, Paper Lantern Theatre, NC Shakespeare Festival, and Actor’s Theatre of Charlotte, among many others. Emily holds a BFA in Performance from Viterbo University, an MFA in Acting from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro, and she is currently pursuing an MFA in Playwriting from Augsburg University. She is a member of the Dramatists Guild, the Playwrights’ Center of Minneapolis, and the London Playwrights’ Workshop.
